FEMA Appeals Process

FEMA Appeals Process

For our neighbors who have reached out to Village Rising for assistance, less than 17% who claimed they had requested prior assistance from FEMA were successful in receiving a favorable decision. When the fires hit back in November, including the Camp Fire up North, FEMA was inundated with requests for assistance and while the vast majority were denied with their initial application, there is a good chance that an appeal will yield more favorable results for those who are still within the 60-day window for appeals.
